Inflation forced us to raise the water rate in Guasave: Leyva Cervantes

Sinaloa.- The manager of the Municipal Board of Potable Water and Sewage in Guasave (Jumapag) declared that before the inflationary update of 7.37 percent, the next receipt which will be presented in February will have a slight increasewhich entered into force this month, in accordance with the law.

Gilberto Leyva Cervantes urged users who have outstanding debts from last year to visit the paramunicipal so that can make the corresponding agreements, because they have a limit to pay until March 31.

Justification

He explained that the rate applied corresponds to an inflationary update of 7.37 percent, which is why it must be applied to the next receipt, in accordance with the provisions of the laws and regulations.

He stressed that the increase is not really burdensome, since an increase of around 15 pesos will be applied, which will be reflected in the February payment, compared to previous years.
He insisted that said increase is not a decision of Jumapag, but rather it is a situation derived from inflation.

He invited all those users who are in default, to visit the facilities so that they can take advantage of the opportunity to make a payment agreement.
He indicated that there is a lot of openness for taxpayers, because the Council authorized them a considerable limit to be able to support those who still have an outstanding debt. He stressed that they have a limit until March 31 to carry out these agreements.

Procedure

He mentioned that in the case of retirees and pensioners, it is very important that they appear at the Jumapag offices to carry out their respective endorsements.

Leyva Cervantes stated that all older adults must present themselves to prove their survival, so that the 50 percent discount is respected.

He added that due to the infections that have occurred in the municipality due to Covid-19, a special module was created for older adults, which will be located next to the Hernando de Villafañe park, where they will be attended by a worker.
