Among the most anticipated rivals of the Spaniard, just to name a few, the New Zealander Scott Dixon, the Brazilian Helio Castroneves, the American Josef Newegarden and the Australian Will Power. Another American is also worth keeping an eye on, Jimmie Johnson, NASCAR champion on seven occasions, in his first full year in IndyCar, having already raced some GPs in the past. Among the participants also Devlin DeFrancesco, Canadian driver of Team Andretti, but with an Italian passport, and two women, the Colombian Tatiana Calderon and the Swiss Simona DeSilvestro who, like Montoya, is currently only registered in the 5OO Miglia.
