Industrial prices in the Region of Murcia increased by 67% in March in the interannual rate, driven by the cost of energy, compared to the increase in the national average of 46.6%, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE) ).
The annual increase registered in the Region is the fourth largest of all the autonomous communities, only behind the increases in the Principality of Asturias (121%), the Canary Islands (112.9%) and the Balearic Islands (112.5%). Among the sectors that drove the upturn in industrial prices in March in the Region, energy stands out, rising to 132.3%, due to the higher cost of production, transportation and distribution of electricity and oil refining.
It is followed by the annual increase in intermediate goods (19.2%); durable consumer goods (16.1%); capital goods (13.2%); and durable consumer goods (9.1%). Regarding the previous month, industrial prices increased in the Region of Murcia by 53.8%, also due to the effects of energy, while the national average showed a positive result of 41.2%.
