Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi lashed out at Pakistan over terrorism. Soon after, Pakistan’s close friend China has come to her rescue. Even Pakistan’s victims of international criticism for failing to take action on terrorism have praised it. China has praised Pakistan for making positive contributions against global terrorism.
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lizhiyan Zhao has said, “China praises Pakistan for playing an international counter-terrorism role and supports Pakistan for action on terrorist forces.” Attempts to sink CPEC will fail. Beijing describes himself as a close friend of Pakistan and has been defending Pakistan in the past.
PM Modi attacked
Earlier, PM Modi said that Jaish-e-Mohammed’s attempts to capture Kashmir have been thwarted. He had said, “The killing of four terrorists of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad and the accumulation of arms and explosives shows that their plans to create havoc have been foiled.”
Try to avoid FATF
Significantly, the sword of FATF (Financial Action Task Force) is hanging over Pakistan. In the meeting held in October, the FATF decided to keep Pakistan in the gray list, while Pakistan is flirting to deal with it. Staying in the gray list will make it difficult for Pakistan to get financial help from international institutions. The FATF said that Pakistan had acted on only 21 of its 27 action points to curb terror funding.
