Mohammed Gaus, father of fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, who has been in Australia for the upcoming series of four Tests, has passed away. Gauss was 53 years old and was suffering from lung disease. His father played a key role in Siraj’s success as a cricketer and supported his son’s ambitions despite limited resources.

It is learned that Siraj will not return to Hyderabad for the last rites due to quarantine rules. After reaching Australia on 13 November, the Indian team is currently going through a 14-day quarantine period.
