Guadalajara Jalisco.- The people with autism or intellectual disability already have a center where they can receive specialized and comprehensive care.
Yesterday, the Government of Guadalajara inaugurated the Autism and Intellectual Disability Center (CADI) with which it is committed to providing therapy, medical consultation, evaluation and diagnosis and stimulation.
It also has simulators of spaces such as a store, bedroom, dentist and beauty salon, computer room and pre-employment workshops for laundry, jarciería, confectionery and piñata makingwith the aim of giving independence to people with autism and intellectual disabilities.
“We needed to complement the offer, we needed to complement the attention. Zapopan is serving a large part of the City, because it has to be said. We are not closing these Autism Centers exclusively for the citizens of Zapopan or Guadalajara, it is being attended with a metropolitan vision“, highlighted Mayor Pablo Lemus during the ribbon cutting.
The CADI will have a service capacity for 360 people a week, in an age range that goes from 3 to 45 years.
“This, without a doubt, makes us the only public center that provides care to adults with ASD and intellectual disabilities in Guadalajara,” said Maye Villa, president of the Guadalajara DIF System.
For the construction and fitting out of the Center, 48 million 439 thousand 359 pesos were invested, contributed by the Government of Guadalajara, donations from the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (Tika) and Guadalajara Pharmacies.
