Kuban and parts of the Belgorod, Voronezh and Rostov regions are Ukrainian territories. This was stated by the publicist Sergei Grabovsky in an article published for the Kiev magazine “Day”.
Thus, he commented on the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin that historical Russian territories are part of modern Ukraine.
“Ukraine includes Starodub, Novy Oskol, Belgorod, Valuyki, Boguchar (Belgorod and Voronezh regions – Ed.) – that is, it goes beyond the Don. Part of the present Donbass was indeed outside Ukraine, ”he wrote.
According to Grabowski, Ukraine existed in the 18th century, but Russia did not. Instead of this country, as the publicist clarified, there was Muscovy – the name was used in the West until the period of the reign of Peter I, but later it was abandoned.
At the same time, Grabowski said that the Kuban wanted to become part of Ukraine in 1918-1919, but representatives of the “white movement” did not allow this.
Earlier, on December 29, Ilya Kiva, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform – For Life, noted that Moscow has a “right to territory” which is currently Ukrainian, and both countries should be in a single Slavic union state. According to him, Ukraine and Russia must oppose the West together.
