On January 14, the troops of the Eastern Military District (VVO) began a sudden check of combat readiness, writes RIA News with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that a check in the VBO will allow assessing the readiness to perform tasks after regrouping over long distances across the country. Particular attention during the audit will be paid to assessing the capabilities of the transport infrastructure for the transport of troops, the military department added.
During the check, the troops will be transferred to unfamiliar training grounds far from their permanent deployment points. There they, among other things, will conduct tactical exercises and live firing.
The Ministry of Defense noted that these events are planned, and they are held as part of the winter training of troops, as well as in preparation for the Vostok-2022 command and staff exercises in September this year.
At the end of December, large-scale paratrooper exercises were held in the Crimea and Kuban, in which more than 1.2 thousand military personnel and over 250 pieces of military equipment took part.
