In the Grayvoronsky urban district of the Belgorod region, the air defense system shot down several flying objects. The head of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced this on January 29.
“Our air defense system worked – several air targets were shot down on approach to the village of Gorkovsky,” the message on Telegram says.

Currently, operational services, the governor reports, are assessing the damage on the ground. In the village of Khotmyzhsk, a window was broken in one of the houses, a car and a fence were damaged. A tour of households for a more thorough inspection will be carried out during daylight hours, Gladkov added.
Also on this day, a woman was injured during shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the village of Mokraya Orlovka, Grayvoronsky urban district. Doctors provided assistance to the victim: her face and hands were damaged by glass fragments. In addition, as a result of the shelling, two private houses were damaged, where windows were broken, facades and fences were cut, and the gas supply line was damaged.
A day earlier, a Ukrainian kamikaze drone attacked an excavator on the outskirts of the village of Kolotilovka, Krasnoyaruzhsky district, resulting in one worker being injured. The ambulance crew that arrived at the scene found that the man had an open fracture of his right tibia and a lacerated wound to his left leg. The victim was hospitalized.
Earlier on the same day, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of a Ukrainian drone in the Belgorod region by air defense means.
The Ukrainian armed forces are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of a special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was made against the backdrop of an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
