Izvestia: the presence of compulsory motor liability insurance will begin to be checked by cameras from March 1, 2025
In Russia, they will begin to check whether drivers have compulsory motor liability insurance policies using traffic cameras. About this wrote Izvestia citing a government source.
The decision to conduct a 12-month experiment was made at a meeting with Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government Alexey Uvarov. According to the initiative, all cars driving on the streets are photographed with traffic cameras. The traffic police information system, which has access to the insurance system, will begin to check the data on car numbers in photographs with the MTPL database.
