Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor Yaroslav Nilov appealed to the government with a request to reduce GOST for car tinting. The deputy proposed to reduce the level of light transmission of the film from 70 to 50 percent. He has already sent a corresponding letter to Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, as well as to the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Transport, report “News”.
Nilov said that Russians who receive fines turn to him with complaints, referring to GOST 5727-88. According to this document, the light transmission of windshields of cars must reach at least 75 percent, and other glasses – at least 70 percent.
“Despite the fact that this standard has lost its force and GOST 32565-2013 is in effect with a single threshold value of light transmission capacity of 70 percent, traffic police inspectors are guided by the figures of GOST 5727-88, mentioned in the Road Traffic Regulations,” Nilov emphasized.
The MP said that the level of tinting on recently produced cars reaches 70-72 percent. In his opinion, one should not forget about the abnormal heat, from which only dark glasses save. Therefore, according to Nilov, it is necessary to change and reduce the requirements for the level of light transmission of the film to 50 percent.
Earlier, the traffic police recalled the dangers of toning. Its presence impairs visibility, the department stressed.
