Former police officer from Rostov-on-Don received a suspended sentence for disclosing state secrets
The Rostov Regional Court has sentenced former police officer Andrei Kanyuk, who was involved in disclosing state secrets. This was reported to Lenta.ru by the regional FSB department.
According to the department, in October 2022, the head of the operational-search department of the operational-search unit of the internal security of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, while at work, passed on information containing state secrets to a resident of Rostov-on-Don who did not have access to such data. It is specified that we are talking about reports marked “secret”, obtained as a result of the event “Wiping of telephone conversations”. Subsequently, based on information received from the police lieutenant colonel, the Rostov resident prepared an electronic image of the analysis certificate and handed it over to Kanyuk for inclusion in the case materials.
The former police officer was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 283 (“Disclosure of state secrets”) of the Russian Criminal Code and sentenced to one year of suspended imprisonment.
Earlier, in the Chelyabinsk region, FSB officers prevented the disclosure of state secrets in law enforcement agencies.
