In Russia, 18,841 cases of COVID-19 were registered per day in 85 regions. This was announced on Wednesday, September 15, at the operational headquarters to combat the spread of infection.
“Over the past 24 hours, 18 841 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Russia in 85 regions. Of these, 7.4% had no clinical manifestations of the disease. 792 deaths were recorded. In a day, 17,039 people have fully recovered in Russia, ”the message says.
Most of the new cases were registered in Moscow (1838), St. Petersburg (1609) and the Moscow region (790).
To date, 7,194,926 cases of coronavirus have been identified in Russia. Over the entire period, 195,041 deaths were recorded, 6,435,072 people recovered.
On the eve, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko said that more than 46 million people had already been vaccinated against coronavirus in the country.
He stressed that there are sufficient supplies of vaccines in the regions. There are also no difficulties with the appointment for vaccination.
A week earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that Russia is seeing good rates of vaccination against coronavirus, but they need to be accelerated to avoid a critical increase in new cases in the fall.
At the same time, Popova noted that the situation with coronavirus in Russia is stable, but the incidence rates are still quite high. The head of Rospotrebnadzor also pointed out the need to wear protective equipment only indoors or in a crowd of people.
Earlier, on August 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin called vaccination the best tool to defeat the pandemic. He also pointed out the need for awareness-raising on vaccination. According to him, it is necessary to educate the population about the benefits of vaccinations and talk about the consequences of a severe course of the disease.
A large-scale vaccination has been taking place in Russia since January. Citizens are vaccinated free of charge and voluntarily. Five vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, which became the first vaccine against COVID-19 in the Russian Federation and the world, as well as Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona, EpiVacCorona-N and KoviVak.
