In retaliation for Russian attacks on Ukraine, a Ukrainian mechanic tried to sink the yacht of his Russian boss Alexander Mikheev, director general of Rosoboronexport, a Russian state-owned weapons company, in Spain.
Ostapchuk went to Porto Adriano, on the Spanish island of Mallorca, on Saturday and, in the vessel’s engine room, opened some valves to create a flow of water that would flood the yacht. The ship suffered serious damage.
Taras Ostapchuk, 55, was arrested by the Spanish Civil Guard on Saturday and later released on bail. “The owner of this ship is a criminal who makes a living selling weapons and who now kills Ukrainians,” Ostapchuk said when he was arrested.
The Lady Anastasia yacht is 48 meters long, has five cabins and is estimated to be worth €7 million, according to BBC News.

Mikheev’s company exports aircraft, Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets, Mil Mi-24 helicopter, tanks, ships, weapons and ammunition.
Ostapchuk has worked on the yacht for the past ten years and says he has no regrets about trying to sink the boss’s yacht.
The mechanic will answer in freedom for the damages. According to the Majorca Daily Bulletin, the mechanic traveled to Ukraine to fight the Russians.
