The data for Sunday 20 February. The positivity rate was 11.3% with 372,776 swabs. Inpatients drop in each area for the thirteenth consecutive day. Admissions: -106. Intensive care: -19
I’m 42,081
the new cases of Covid in Italy (yesterday there were 50,534, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 12.469.975
the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 141
(yesterday 252), for a total of 152,989 victims from February 2020.
People recovered or discharged they are altogether 10.968.639 And 63,492 those that have become negative in the last 24 hours (84,767 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 1,348,347equal to -21.431 compared to yesterday (-34,344 the day before).
The swabs and the scenario
THE total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 372.776, or 119,269 less than yesterday when there were 492,045. The rate of positivity 11.3% (the approximation of 11.288%); yesterday it was 10.3%.
The trend of the curve is confirmed downwardas the comparison with last Sunday (February 13) – the same day of the week – shows when they were recorded +51,959 cases with a rate of 11.2%: today, in fact, there are fewer new infections than that day. The impression, however, that the descent has lost speed, i.e. it is proceeding more slowly, because the case-to-test ratio (11.29% approximately 11.3%) is similar to that of February 13 (11.2%). ) and not lower. But it will be better understood later.
The health system
For the thirteenth consecutive day, hospital stays in each area decrease. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m -103 (yesterday -561), for a total of 13,284 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care (TI) are -19 (yesterday -34) – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered ICU -, bringing the total of the most seriously ill patients to 934with 52 admissions to resuscitation (yesterday 76).
