From the yacht of Prince Albert to that of Kennedy, over fifty boats are present
Imperia – We could define them “queens of the sea” and this is precisely how they should be considered. Historic boats with a long life behind them, admired, pampered, coveted. They are the protagonists of the Vele d’Epoca, one of the most loved and heartfelt events that characterize the city of Imperia.
Over fifty the boats present at the Vele d’Epoca. Among them are “Tuiga”, the historic yacht of Prince Albert of Monaco who had bought it from the King of Spain; “Lulù”, the oldest yacht in France considered a national asset; “Manitou”, the famous one that belonged to John Fitzgerald Kennedy and the boats of the Italian Navy “Penelope”, “Il Corsaro”, “Chaplin”.
For more than thirty years the Vele d’Epoca have been a pivotal appointment of the classic regattas in the Mediterranean. The event, held at Calata Anselmi, is organized by Assonautica, the Municipality, the Riviere di Liguria Chamber of Commerce with the support of Go Imperia and the Imperia Yacht Club.
Also this year as the previous edition is present “Cargo”, theexhibition area that proposes with the stands present handicrafts, furnishings, accessories, curiosities related to the maritime world. In the event there will also be space for stands reserved for the literary sphere and other topics.
