Actor Alec Baldwin violated the first commandment to handle weapons on set. About this edition of The New York Post told Hollywood firearms consultant Brian Carpenter of Dark Thirty Film Services.
He explained that a shooter should never point a gun at a living person. Moreover, such behavior is unacceptable, even if it is known that the weapon is not loaded, he said. “Never point the barrel at an object that you do not intend to hit. Act as if all the guns are always loaded, even if they are not, ”the expert said.
Carpenter noted that for safety reasons, all weapons used on the set are aimed at the dummy, but not at the equipment, actors or the team.
Earlier, the president of the Russian stunt guild, Alexander Inshakov, condemned Baldwin for shooting on the set of the western “Rust”, during which a cameraman was killed and the director of the film was seriously injured. “Is he a fool? Or an idiot? Grabbed a weapon and decided to misbehave with the hope that there were blank cartridges? What for? Maybe he was fucked up? As far as I understand, it didn’t even happen at the time of filming. Why do you take a weapon and start shooting? It’s just insanity! ” – Inshakov was indignant.
During one of the scenes of filming the western “Rust”, the star of the picture Baldwin fired a pistol, which was supposed to be loaded with blank cartridges. The shot killed cameraman Hutchins and injured director Joel Sousa. The actor clarified that he was cooperating with the investigation.
