Paris prosecutor’s office: a Russian citizen detained in France faces 30 years in prison

As the department noted, the Russian citizen faces 30 years in prison. “On July 23, 2024, the Paris prosecutor’s office opened a judicial investigation into collaboration with a foreign state with the aim of provoking unrest in France,” the statement said.
At the request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a search was carried out at the man’s home. “The elements discovered during it suggest that he had the intention of organizing incidents that could cause destabilization during the Olympic Games,” the material says.
Earlier, a French court arrested the property of two Russian businessmen worth over 70 million euros during an investigation into a case of possible money laundering.
