In this Spotlight we head to Kinshasa, the gigantic capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the proliferation of a new drug called ‘Bombé’ worries the authorities. The composition, whose composition is variable, contains drugs and catalytic filter residues and immerses consumers in a state of lethargy; its traffic would be the source of an explosion of insecurity in the capital in recent months.
To deal with this situation, the Police are multiplying operations, arresting manufacturers and consumers without hesitation. But there are members of civil society who worry about this repression and deplore the lack of care for drug addicts, who are often unemployed youth.
