Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake on the planet and the largest in Africa, is in grave danger. Because lakeside communities in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania have virtually no access to sewage infrastructure, a constant stream of sewage, fertilizer, garbage and plastic waste is suffocating what has been the main supplier of food and livelihoods in this area of East Africa.
Despite the sad situation of Lake Victoria and a fight that seems so difficult to win, the young activists have decided to get involved to make the inhabitants aware of the importance of their care. Report from our colleagues from France 2, with James Vasina and Camille Nedelec from France 24.
