The 68th edition of the classic candango between Brasiliense and Gama will be this Saturday (2), at 3 pm (Brasilia time), at Boca do Jacaré, in Taguatinga (DF). The duel for the fifth round of the Brazilian Championship Series D will be broadcast live on TV Brazil, with narration by Rodrigo Campos and comments by Waldir Luiz and Rafael Monteiro.
Three points separate the rivals in the classification of Group 5. Jacaré occupies third place, with seven points, while Periquito appears in sixth, with four points. The teams come from defeats in the last round, both to teams from Mato Grosso, last Saturday (26). Brasiliense was overtaken by União, by 2-1, at the Luthero Lopes stadium, in Rondonópolis (MT). Gama lost to Nova Mutum in Abadião, in Ceilândia (DF), by 3-0.
At Jacaré, coach Vilson Tadei has four certain absences for the match. Defender Badhuga and forward Zé Love are suspended for the third yellow card and should be replaced, respectively, by Preto Costa and Victor Rangel. Forwards Jeferson Maranhão and Bruno Nunes are in the medical department.
Ready for the classic

The coach – who directed Gama in the group stage of Serie D last year – should play Brasiliense with Edmar Sucuri; Diogo, Gustavo Henrique, Preto Costa and Goduxo; Lídio, Zotti, Alan Mineiro and Luquinhas; Peninha and Victor Rangel.
“Classic is classic, so it’s always very difficult. I know it well, but it has changed a lot, it’s practically another team. The most important thing is to be attentive at work, do our best, see what we can pass on to the group to make a great match and look for a positive result”, said Tadei, in a statement to the press.
At Gama, the classic marks the debut of Marcelo Caranhato in charge of the team. It is the third coach to take over Verdão in four rounds of Serie D. The team started the championship with Ricardo Colbachini, who left the club after the first round to join Abel Braga’s coaching staff in Lugano (Switzerland). In the next three games, the squad was in charge of Adailton Bolzan, who did not resist defeats by União (2-1, away from home, in the third round) and Nova Mutum.

“All classics condition a competition. Whoever wins this game comes out very strong. It will be a great game, played, with two teams that have the quality to play. Regardless of the opponent, only the victory interests us, because this conditions us to enter the fight at the top of the table”, said Caranhato, to Gama’s press office.
Midfielder Elias, injured, is a certain embezzlement at Periquito. Defender Vinícius, with muscular discomfort, is doubtful. On the other hand, forward Vitor Xavier is recovered from an injury that took him out of the field in the last three rounds and returns to the starting lineup. The likely lineup will have: Douglas; Gabriel, Elenilson, Wendel and Gabiga; Carrilho, Germano and Fernandinho; Robertinho, Vitor Xavier and Hugo Almeida.
It will be the fourth clash between Brasiliense and Gama in 2021. The previous ones took place in the Candango Championship, all won by Jacaré – in the last one, by a 4-0 rout, with goals from midfielders Luquinhas (two) and Didira and striker Carlos Eduardo, on May 12th.
The hosts won the last four games against Parakeet and opened up an advantage in the history of matches. In 67 matches, there are 25 triumphs for Brasiliense against 21 for Gama and 21 draws. Verdão’s last victory was on September 26 last year: 2-1 for the group stage of Série D, in Bezerrão, in Gama (DF).
