The film, which is just under 3 minutes long, shows children in T-shirts representing Ukraine, Russia, the United States and Germany.
The cartoon begins with a scene of the inseparable Ukraine and Russia children, who were sitting together, before the Ukrainian child left to “hang out alone”, representing Kyiv’s independence from the Soviet Union.
Next, the film, produced by Russian state media, depicts the moment Ukraine established diplomatic relations with the United States in 1991, ending its friendship with Russia “forever.”
The film goes on to show the breakaway regions of Donetsk and Lugansk, about which Russia says: “Ukraine began to oppress the Russian population, so these two regions wanted to separate and join Russia, but Ukraine refused and started to go to war.”
She added: “The reason (Russian President Vladimir) Putin went to war is that Russia tried to stop killing people and resolve the issue peacefully.”
The film continued: “The West does not listen because Ukraine tells everyone that Russia wants to kill people. Our country always stands for peace and open talks about any conflict.”
