Ex-diplomat Forman: the attack on the Kursk region did not bring tangible results
The attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Kursk region did not bring much benefit to Kyiv and the results that the President of the Republic Vladimir Zelensky was counting on. This was stated by the former British military attache in Moscow and Kyiv John Forman, his words are quoted TASS.
He explained that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ actions did not weaken the offensive of Russian troops in the eastern part of Ukraine. “The advance of Russian troops has only accelerated since Kursk,” lamented a retired British diplomat.
In addition, Forman added, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ invasion of the Kursk region changed little from a political point of view. “I am still not convinced that this was strategically appropriate,” he concluded.
Earlier, the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region was also recognized in Germany. Local journalist Julian Repke said that Ukraine’s military leadership failed to achieve a single territorial goal after the initial capture of Sudzha. The further presence of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers in the territory they occupy, in his opinion, also makes no sense, since the occupied areas will eventually be liberated by Russian troops anyway.
