In the Amur region, migrants were banned from working in taxis and trade
In the Amur region, migrants were prohibited from working in two areas – passenger transportation and trade. The corresponding document was signed by Governor Vasily Orlov, as reported on website government of the Russian region.
“Currently, about 14 thousand foreign citizens are involved in patents in the Amur region. Moreover, more than 85 percent of them are involved in the construction of large investment projects. The rest are engaged in almost all types of activities in the region, including construction, trade, and transport,” the report says.
After the document comes into force, employers are instructed to bring the number of migrants in the workplace in accordance with the new standards within three months. The government clarified that unemployed Russians will be able to replace migrants. If the requirement is not met, the employer will face a fine of up to one million rubles or administrative suspension of activities for up to 90 days.
The fine for a migrant working in the listed areas will be five thousand rubles with administrative expulsion from the territory of Russia. Violations will be identified during raids.
A day earlier, on April 16, the head of Kamchatka announced that from the end of spring migrants would be prohibited from working in the taxi industry. Similar restrictive measures were taken in April in the Novosibirsk region – there the right of migrants to work in trade and private transportation was limited.
