Legal Advisor Dr. Youssef Al-Sharif confirmed that the Law on Combating Communicable Diseases mandated the immunization of children according to the national program, which is set by the Ministry of Health, and made immunization the responsibility of the child’s guardian and everyone who takes care of him, and imposed a penalty on anyone who violates this.
Al-Sharif said in today’s episode of the “In Our Life the Story” program, which is presented on the “Emirates Today” platforms, that the law requires everyone who knows that any child or person has been infected with a communicable disease, informing the concerned health authorities, and setting a penalty for violating this, indicating that According to Article 4/1 of the Communicable Diseases Control Law, there is a responsibility for the doctor to inform the authority he follows of the ruling of his work, whether this doctor works for a governmental or private entity, and if he violates this, he will be subject to the penalty of Article 36 of the same law, which is imprisonment and a fine or one of the two punishments.
He cautioned that there is parental responsibility under Article 4/2 / and Article 21/1 of the same law to present the child to vaccination centers, and violating this will subject him to the penalty of Article 37 / of the same law.
There is also a responsibility on the school and educational institutions to inform the concerned authorities of the condition of any sick student or anyone suspected of being ill with any of the communicable diseases.
