Often the life of one developer it is more complicated than it might seem, mainly due to gamers. Sometimes it is really impossible to please everyone, as evidenced by the requests received by the small software house Icon64, which has just announced the creation of Impossible Mission 3. Let’s read them:
- Make it easier than the original.
- Don’t make it easy.
- Make it harder than the original because it was too easy.
- Don’t add weapons.
- Please add some weapons.
- Make the puzzle shorter than the original, which was too long.
- Keep the puzzle as long and difficult as the original.
- Add new enemies that act differently.
- Don’t add new enemies because the original ones were perfect.
- Add some music, because the original was too quiet.
- Don’t add the music, keep the soundtrack atmospheric like the ones in the first chapter.
- Make a cassette version.
- Do not make a version on cassette, but only on cartridge.
- Why bother with a new version of an outdated game?
- It’s great to see a new Impossible Mission.
Now, Impossible Mission 3 is a very small production, designed for a now vintage system (the Commodore 64), yet this is the picture. Imagine a bigger production what kind of requests it can receive and how difficult it is to fight with players who feel frustrated because they have not been satisfied, without understanding that it is often just not possible to do so.
