The French Iliad continues to grow: in Italy the market share is 10.5%
Leader in the field of French telecommunications, Iliad continues to grow even beyond national borders: at the end of September the threshold of users Italians has surpassed the 8 million. The Paris-based company holds a market share of 10.5% in Italy. Overall, 345,000 new users chose the Iliad operator in the third quarter.
In addition to the users, the quarterly turnover is up sharply compared to 2020: 207 million total euros, up 21% in the third quarter and 22.1% in the first 9 months of 2021. As it prepares to launch its fixed network services, Iliad it is continuing to rapidly develop its latest generation mobile network throughout the country and has surpassed the 8,200 sites already active, in line with the annual target of 8,500 active sites.
The distribution network of Iliad which currently has 23 Flagship Stores, more than 1,500 Simboxes distributed at Iliad Corners and large retailers, over 450 Iliad Points in newsstands and tobacconists, and more than 2,000 Iliad Express at supermarkets, large distribution and BookStore.
The turnover of the Iliad group amounted to 1.91 billion euros in the quarter with a growth of 34.6% compared to 2020, driven by the consolidation of play in Poland, and the solid growth of free in France and Iliad in Italy. The group’s turnover for the first 9 months of the year was 5.63 billion euros, an increase of 34.0%. The Iliad group currently has 40.8 million users in Europe, of which 33.7 million mobile users and 7.1 million users for fixed network services.
