Ikea has launched a new piece of furniture in Europe that connects to our devices and allows you to light up and listen to music all in one. The Swedish company has been interested in the connected home for a while, and has sold several smart objects in the past to fit into its popular furniture lines. The latest arrival is Vappeby, a table lamp that is also good for the garden, since it is resistant to rain and IP65 certified. The peculiarity of Vappeby is that on the base it has a 360-degree speaker to listen to music by connecting via Bluetooth to a smartphone, computer or tablet. Not only that: there is also a key for the function Spotify Tap Playback: by pressing it near our device, the connection to Spotify is instantaneous and resumes exactly where it was interrupted as we listened to it elsewhere. Vappeby has an autonomy declared by Ikea of 12 hours and is recharged with a USB-C socket, has an integrated carrying handle and is 25×17 centimeters large, made of polycarbonate. It is currently on sale in Spain and Germany, where it costs 59 and 49 euros respectively. It has not yet been announced when it will be available in Italy.
