The coronavirus pandemic has destroyed the music industry, according to Russian composer Igor Krutoy. He stated this on Tuesday, November 23, at a press conference on the eve of the Victoria National Music Awards.
“The pandemic went through the genre in a tank. Whether she (the music industry – Ed.) Can recover will depend on when it all ends. I talked to the academician [директором НИЦЭМ им. Гамалеи Александром] Gunzburg, 1200 people die every day. Who wants to go to concerts in such an environment? That the genre exists in full force, I cannot say <...>. Since now there are restrictions on the number of viewers, everything is slipping into some kind of corporate parties, ”the musician emphasized.
According to the president of the Victoria Prize, Yuri Kostin, the pandemic has become a disaster for some artists. He also added that the music industry needs to be supported.
“Because the concerts were at the most difficult times. Even during the war, artists went to the front. I think the last thing to do is to cancel the concerts, ”he said.
The award will take place at the Kremlin Palace on December 2. This year it will be awarded for the fifth time. The number of nominees included a record number of musicians – 700 people.
Among the nominees for the National Prize: Zemfira, Till Lindemann, Svetlana Loboda, Polina Gagarina, Leonid Agutin, Morgenstern, Manizha, Zivert, Dima Bilan, DDT and others.
On November 13, singer Avraam Russo urged Russians to get vaccinated against coronavirus. He said that in his environment, many had been ill with COVID-19. The artist was vaccinated earlier this year and stressed that he feels great.
Against the backdrop of a worsening epidemiological situation, the Russian authorities are urging residents to get vaccinated in order to protect their health and take care of their loved ones. Citizens are vaccinated for free.
