Hockey|Gullible hockey fans have fallen victim to scammers at the World Cup in the Czech Republic.
Hundreds hockey fans have fallen victim to ticket fraud at the ongoing World Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic. An Austrian newspaper reports on the information of the local police Heute.
According to the newspaper, during the first four days of the tournament, there have been about 300 cases of cheating, and about 28,000 euros in money have moved.
Typically, those who have purchased a ticket only realize that they have been scammed at the hall, when the QR code on the ticket does not work. The reason is that the code has been faked or the same ticket has been sold several times.
The tickets have usually been bought at a remarkably cheap price from various sales websites.
According to Heute, the police are there with a group specializing in cybercriminals at both race locations, i.e. in Prague and Ostrava.
