Ice hockey | Marko Anttila was the target of an ugly tackle – the League is starting an investigation

HPK’s Mathias Trettnes tackled Anttila in the head area on Saturday.

In Kärpi, Oulu multi-year captain of the playing men’s national ice hockey team Marko Anttila was the target of an ugly tackle in Saturday’s HPK match, and the League announced on Sunday that it would investigate the tackle more closely.

Kärpät led the match a couple of minutes before the final buzzer with a score of 3–1, while the visitors Mathias Trettenes tackled Anttila without a puck in the middle area. Trettenes came into the situation from a blind spot, so to speak, and Anttila was unable to prepare in any way.

The Norwegian striker seemed to hit Anttila in the head with his tackle, and a 5+20 minute suspension was ordered for the situation. Kärpät struck with superiority to make the final score 4–1.

“The situation is progressing to the handling of the League’s disciplinary delegation”, the League announced in connection with the video it published late on Saturday.

This season, Trettenes has played six matches with powers of 1+1. Anttila’s balance is the same, but there are only four matches played.
