Hockey|The Swedish defender will play his home match for Nordis.
Ice hockey HIFK, which plays in the SM league, has acquired a Swedish defender in its ranks by Fredrik Granberg. The 24-year-old Granberg is a real diva roller, as he has played Sweden’s third highest league level in Hockeyettan since the 2020-2021 season in four different clubs.
Granberg’s transfer to HIFK is revealed by the hockey website At Elite Prospect.
Before HIFK, Granberg played for Piteå HC. Last season he scored 8+15=23 power points and this season he played in three matches, scoring a goal and assisting one.
Granberg, who hails from Jällivaara, is a big guy: 191 centimeters and 93 kilograms.
The acquisition of Granberg can be considered a surprise, as HIFK has more strikers with injuries, such as Jori Lehterä and Juhani Jasu.
Today, Wednesday, HIFK will face Kooko in their home match.
Correction at 10:30. Hockeyettan is Sweden’s third-highest league level, not the second level, as was initially erroneously stated in the article.
