“I want to end the government without missing people, with peace,” says AMLO

During his La Mañanera conference this Wednesday, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador spoke about the end of his six-year termabout which he said that wants to end with peace and tranquility.

“I want to end the government without any act of repression, without a massacre, without missing persons, with peacecalmly, but at the same time without authoritarianism,” said the president from the National Palace.

He also mentioned that people understand their government, because when talking about violence “they don’t think the same as those at the top.”

Due to the above, he expressed that everyone has the right to demonstrate, therefore The CNTE sit-in will continue in the Zócalo and will not be moved by the closing of the campaign of the candidate Claudia Sheinbaum, of the Let’s Keep Making History coalition.

He stressed that the violence in Mexico was due to the abandonment of the people and the collusion of the authorities with crime, he says, speaking again about Genaro García Luna and a “narco-government.”
