Mexico City.- Will Sergio Pérez’s bad streak be broken at the Spanish Grand Prix?
This weekend, the Mexican must fulfill two important missions. The first is to reach Q3 of the qualifying session, since in Emilia-Romagna, Monaco and Canada he was eliminated in the first cuts.
The second goal is related to his performance on the track. In the aforementioned points races he only added 4 points, the result of eighth place in Imola.
“I am aware that I need a successful weekend here in Spain, especially after the dramatic weekend in Canada. Sometimes they force you to restart and we have done that since the last race.
“Together with the team in Milton Keynes, we have worked to find a solution. We have tried to identify where and what I can do best to get the most out of the car. I have a lot of confidence in the car and the performance we can get from it,” He recognized the tricolor.
Although Checo feels a special connection with the Barcelona fans by sharing Spanish as a language, in terms of numbers he has not done well at all. His crowning achievement is a second-place podium in 2022 with Red Bull.
“I’ve always had a soft spot for the Spanish Grand Prix, it feels a bit like coming home. It’s a circuit I know very well and the RB20 should be very fast on this type of circuit. So it’s up to us to get things done correct and achieve a good result, which we know is within,” concluded Pérez.
