President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said goodbye this Monday with a message in his last morning press conferencein which he expressed his confidence that with Claudia Sheinbaum things will go well for Mexico and its people and he stated that he leaves satisfied.
We put into practice our principle that for the good of all, the poor first, the president highlighted in his morning press conference at the National Palace.
And it was not only a proclamation, it was not only a motto, it became a reality, because we managed, and that is another mark of pride, to reduce poverty and inequality, despite the pandemic that caused us so much pain and knocked us down. the economy like it has not happened in more than a century, he maintained.
“Thank you very much for participating in these conferences for almost six years, this circular dialogue, which concludes today. I am very pleased that this exercise of authentic communication, of back-and-forth messages, continues, as the president-elect offered. Claudia Sheinbaum”, he said.
“I can’t help but say that I am very satisfied by the affection of many Mexicans, women, men, which I appreciate with all my heart. I dedicated myself to serving the people, I feel very proud, happy that we served everyone, we listened to everyone, we respected everyone, but we gave preference to those most in need.”
We got up and managed to recover economic growth, stressed the head of the Executive, even limited by that external economic crisis and even when it grew because of the economy.
He highlighted that the distribution of wealth and income grew, the budget was distributed to everyone, salaries increased as had not happened in many decades.
Since there were no luxuries in the government, the living conditions and working conditions of the majority of Mexicans could be improved.
“And as I have been repeating, I am very happy because tomorrow I am going to hand over the presidential sash to an exceptional woman, a humanist, a woman full of love, humility, and good feelings,” said the President.
“It is difficult to find a transition like the one we are experiencing in history; Personally, I feel very satisfied with the president’s respectful treatment of me until the end,” said the man from Tabasco.
“Which demonstrates his great human condition, because any other self-conscious person, man or woman, the first thing he would have done would have been to refuse me, or start with hints to question what we have achieved together, to differentiate himself, draw his line, or with blows. spectacular for people to say now change is coming,” he said.
“I am sure that things will go very well for him, as the country deserves, and very well for our people with the next president.”
Sign reforms to the National Guard and indigenous peoples
In his last morning, President López Obrador signed the two constitutional reforms that were approved at the end of his six-year term, the passage of the National Guard to SEDENA and the initiative on rights of indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples.
“To finish, I want to sign here, before you, the publications of two constitutional reforms, of the 20 reform initiatives that I sent to Congress,” said the president at a morning press conference, in National Palace.
“One that has to do with the creation of the National Guard, which is an institution to guarantee public security, and this institution already has 130 thousand elements and 500 facilities, barracks, and is an accredited institution to protect citizens. ”.
López Obrador said that with this reform it was also possible for him to become part of the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), which will give him solidity, permanence, discipline and honest management, especially one that is not linked to organized crime or white collar crime, that the border, the dividing line between crime and authority, always be maintained.
“And the other is something that has to do with deep Mexico, with the rights of indigenous peoples, the rights of all indigenous peoples are guaranteed, to the most intimate truth of our country, and this is a reform also approved by the Congress, the Chamber of Deputies, the Chamber of Senators, 26 local legislatures, in the case of these two constitutional reforms,” said the head of the Executive.
The President thanked local and federal legislators for their support and confidence in approving the reform initiatives.
