This Saturday, January 15, a tense situation occurred in a synagogue located in Colleyville, Texas, United States, where for several hours a man held some people.
Finally, the local rabbi and four other people were released after the intervention of the FBI and elite teams.
Hours later, it was learned that the alleged perpetrator of the events was a 44-year-old British citizen named Malik Faisal Akram, who died on the spot.
According to authorities, the man claimed to be the brother of Aafia Siddiqui, who is nicknamed “Lady Qaeda” by US newspapers, and was demanding that his sister be released from jail.

The woman, who is a former Pakistani scientist, was sentenced by a New York court in 2010 to 86 years in prison for attempted murder of US officials in Afghanistan. His case sparked outrage in Pakistan and today is confined at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) prison in Fort Worth, Texas.
After what happened, Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker, who was unharmed, spoke through his social networks and was grateful to be alive.
“I am grateful and full of appreciation for all the vigils and prayers, love and support, for all the law enforcement and first responders who took care of us, for all the security that helped save us,” he wrote on Twitter.
“I am grateful for my family.
I am grateful for the CBI Community, the Jewish Community, the Human Community.
I’m thankful we made it out.
I am grateful to be alive.”

For its part, the British anti-terrorist police announced on Sunday the arrest of two subjects who were questioned in connection with the incident.
“Two teenagers were arrested in Manchester South tonight, they remain in custody,” Manchester Area Police said in a statement.
The FBI office in Dallas had said earlier that there was “no indication” that anyone else was involved in the attack on the synagogue of the Beth Israel congregation. They also did not give more details about Akram or his motives.
