Through its social network account X, the NOA disseminated a video that allows us to see another perspective of this meteorological phenomenon that rapidly increased its strength while moving through the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
The video shows the pilots aboard the hurricane hunting plane “Miss Piggy” as it flies over the hurricane in the morning skies of the United States.
These types of flights have the objective of collecting data in order to perfect weather forecasts and know the type of intensity that the hurricane has in the regions where it is currently located.

Biden warns that Milton could be the worst hurricane to hit Florida in 100 years
The president of the United States, Joe Biden, warned this Tuesday that Hurricane Milton could be the “worst” to hit the state of Florida in a century and asked people in the path of the storm to evacuate as soon as possible.
“It could be the worst hurricane to hit Florida in more than a century and, God willing, it won’t be, but it seems that way right now,” Biden told reporters at the White House, shortly after announcing that he was canceling a trip to Florida. Germany and Angola to stay in the United States and oversee the hurricane response.
Biden said the impact of Milton, which is expected to make landfall Wednesday night in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, could be “devastating.”
“I urge everyone in the path of Hurricane Milton to listen to local authorities and follow safety measures. If you are under evacuation orders, you should evacuate now. You should have evacuated already. It’s a matter of life or death, and that is not an exaggeration,” Biden said.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) of the United States warned in its bulletin at 11:00 local time (15:00 GMT) that “Today is the last day for Florida residents to prepare” in their homes or evacuate designated areas, if indicated by local authorities..
Milton, a hurricane that strengthened in record time in the Gulf of Mexico to reach category 5, the largest on the Saffir-Simpson scale, was downgraded today to category 4 and its center is expected to make landfall on Wednesday night near Tampa Bay, Hillsborough County (west coast of Florida).
