Residents of the municipality deliver canned goods, medical supplies and medicines that will be sent to the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid and to the border with Poland
Vans loaded with medicines, band-aids, hydrogen peroxide and food will leave this Saturday night from the esplanade of the Cenit shopping center in Cartagena, heading for the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid. Hundreds of people from Cartagena donate all kinds of medicines, sanitary material and canned food to Ukrainians living in the municipality who ask for citizen collaboration on social networks this Saturday.
The spokeswoman for this group, Oksana Savina, explained to LA VERDAD that all the products will travel to the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid and, later, to the border of her country with Poland thanks to Army SOS, a “public initiative that helps the Army of Ukraine in tasks in which the State is not yet strong », according to the website of this group. “They are well organized and will help us get it where it is most needed,” Savina said.
The Cartagena Chamber of Commerce, several pharmacies in the municipality, companies from Campo de Cartagena and the Los Almendros residence, with a van, among others, collaborated. Entire families attended the donation, such as that of Pedro José Cervantes. “We have delivered a bit of everything, from preserves to painkillers. No matter how little we help, it will already be a triumph », he assured.
Tomorrow, Sunday, at 11:00 am, a rally is scheduled next to the Icue. In the afternoon, at 5:00 p.m., there is another peaceful demonstration on the Gran Vía de Murcia. The Cartagena City Council has made a bus available to the association of Ukrainians in the municipality so that they can attend.
