The 5G mobile phone network is getting closer to its massive landing in South America. One of its main drivers, the china Huawei, seeks precisely to be at the forefront. For this reason, he announced the opening of the Ecosystem Innovation Technology Center (EITC), the first innovation center to carry out tests with this technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the region.
The center, located at Huawei’s headquarters in Sao Paulo, Brazil, was created to offer a innovation and integration environment for the entire ecosystem, which not only involves operators, but other partners in the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) industry.
At EITC they promise to welcome all those who are interested in development set of new apps, and proofs of concept in real conditions of an end-to-end 5G network.
Huawein invested about 7 million dollars for the development of the Ecosystem Innovation Technology Center.
“The new high-capacity center was designed for our clients and partners to develop solutions based on fifth-generation mobile technology for different sectors of the Brazilian economy”,
Huawei partners will be able to prepare for future challenges through advanced technology solutions with the integrated use of 5G, Cloud computing and Artificial Intelligence, which will allow them to observe in real time the impact of adopting new applications and services on their business.
Among its objectives, the EITC will show how a 5G network is formed and its possibilitiessuch as bandwidth, low latency, and massive connectivity.
Fifth generation mobile technology and Internet of Things (IoT) enable entirely new experiences, automated processes, and new business models. Contributing to the implementation of more efficient strategies not only reduces costs, but also improves the financial results of the entire ecosystem.
“Huawei was a partner of Brazil for 23 years and wants to continue promoting innovation in the country. We are bringing our 5G infrastructure, cloud and Artificial Intelligence to the EITC for all those who want to invest in new solutions for the Brazilian economy to accelerate the creation of an ecosystem based on 5G mobile technology”Said Sun Baocheng, CEO of Huawei Brazil.
“We want to become the drivers of digital development and key customer partners in digital transformation, which is essential for future business success. Based on our main ICT infrastructure approach, Huawei wants to build an open, collaborative and beneficial ecosystem for all those involved, ”he added.

In the same space, the company is inaugurating a T-Center (Trustworthy Center), a open cybersecurity center where clients and partners, including the public power, will be able to discover more about the end-to-end governance process of the company.
In addition, you will be able to appreciate the more advanced techniques in cybersecurity products throughout the life cycle, as well as application scenarios such as 5G network cybersecurity, cloud computing systems, smart devices, connected cars and much more.
“The cybersecurity and data protection are fundamental in the digital world and are the priorities for Huawei, which invested more than one billion in this segment only in 2020, “said Marcelo Motta, Huawei’s Director of Cybersecurity and Solutions for Brazil and Latin America.
Huawei and 5G in Argentina
Regarding the deployment of 5G in Argentina, Huawei participated in the samples carried out by ENACOM in March of this year, where it celebrated “being part of the development of this technology in the country, in an environment of open market where operators can choose the technology providers for their networks according to the value that each manufacturer can offer. “
In this sense, it is believed that only by 2022 they will begin to carry out the spectrum tender so that this ultra-speed mobile phone network will soon operate in the country.
