HS Turku Tomas Tunturi, 11, from Turku, received his business ID at the age of 7 – This is the capture of a young entrepreneur in Ukraine, which caused a huge avalanche in Finland

The charity scheme for a primary school-age entrepreneur is praised in Turku. A rush of customers can be expected in Ruissalo the next time the weekend café opens.

Turku resident Tomas Tunturin, 11, a charity plotting to help victims of the war in Ukraine arouses admiration in the world. A picture taken on Sunday of a young entrepreneur’s pop up café has already garnered 3,500 likes in Facebook’s Turku puskaradio group. Pictured is Tomas standing behind his counter with a sign promising to donate half of the cafe’s proceeds to Ukraine via Unicef.

During Sunday, the sale of the street café raised 52 euros for charity, Tomas tells Helsingin Sanomat.

“People praised it was a great idea. And that the coffee and buns were good, ”he reiterates the customer feedback he received.

In fact, Tomas had started his charity project a week earlier. The desire to help drove a young philanthropist to work, even though the yard kiosk is normally open on average once a month.

Tomas has been running a café in Ruissalo, Turku since he was seven years old.

Living in Ruissalo Tomas is already a longtime entrepreneur. Father Turkey Fell says the boy has been running his own cafe on the seafront promenade in front of the family home since he was seven years old. He had received the idea on a day trip to Rymättylä, where local children sold farm products.

The cafe is open on a regular, irregular basis, mainly on weekends and during the summer: when you have fun, or as now, for good reason. The selections include coffee, tea, earbuds and whistle juice. Parents help with baking and paperwork.

“I guess it will be in 2018 when he got this idea. We immediately applied for all the necessary permits. A business ID can be found in the trade register and Tomas is also entered in the prepayment register. In addition, the municipality has been notified of the temporary sale of food, ”the father laughs.

The idea of †‹вЂ‹ Ukrainians support arose from the young man’s own desire to help.

“I had read a lot of news about Ukraine and seen stuff about different collections. I decided to do something myself, ”Tomas explains.

The father says the family has been following the news of the crisis in Ukraine together and discussing the need for help caused by the war. The café was a natural way to help because it has been a hobby for Tomas for a long time. The young man himself says that the long-term goal is to develop the entrepreneurial profession. He names the founder of the Hesburger chain in Turku as one of his role models Heikki Salmelan.

“I was thinking about starting a restaurant. And maybe many more, ”Tomas flashes.
