HS Helsinki In Hakaniemi, it is worth keeping the windows closed despite the heat – “There is dust and noise in store,” warns the adjacent construction site

The Crown Bridges tramway is being built at a rapid pace and is causing dust and noise. Despite the heat, residents are advised to keep the windows closed.

CROWN RESTAURANTS is also being built in the summer heat. Work around Hakaniemi and Kruununhaka is at its peak.

Crown Bridges Tram Communication Specialist Lauri Hänninen advises residents to keep their windows closed, especially during the day, as the side effects of the site are greatest on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“I especially want to apologize to the residents of Hakaniemi and Kruununhaa, because there is dust and noise in store,” says Hänninen.

“We will fight the disadvantages by all possible means.”

In addition, on the night before Tuesday 28 June, at the intersection of Hakaniemenkatu and Hakaniemenranta, night work will be carried out at the street construction site, causing noise to residents.

However, a tram bridge alone will not be built on site. It will upgrade all municipal technology, including power lines, water mains and sewers, as well as district heating lines and telecommunication cables.

The project will take years because the work cannot be done in three shifts. Residents must sleep and get electricity and water in their homes during the street construction. In addition, 40,000 cars pass through the area every day, and traffic cannot be blocked.

Jobs continue throughout the summer.

The Hakaniemens bridge will be built from both shores. In Siltavuorensalmi, new sewer pipes will be sunk at night in week 28.

In Hakaniemi, municipal technology and street structures are being renewed. Merihaansilla shore structures are being built in Merihaans and Nihti.

The traffic arrangements on Sörnäinen’s coastal road are changing. The construction work on the new Hakaniemensilla and pressurized sewer can be seen and heard in Kruununhaka.
