HS Helsinki A hill known to few offers a view of Helsinki’s future – “Soon everything will come here”, says Pasi

Helsinki’s skyline is often admired from the Suomenlinna ferry south of Helsinki. But perhaps an even more interesting perspective can be found when you manage to skim a short distance to the east.

Path the head end is in a surprising place.

You can reach the area by car or bus number 88. Then the urban traveler has to continue into the woods on foot.

The terrain is dense, overgrown and unmanaged deciduous forest with rocky soils, steep ascents and gorges. Sometimes the path is better, and sometimes you have to jump a bit in search of more sturdy soil.

Somewhere at the other end of this path are cliffs that are hailed as a place that few find, but all fall in love with.

The foremost know how to walk the most direct route to the cliffs of the top of Kruunuvuori from the new residential area of Kruunuvuorenranta, but the first-timer wanders in the forest easily.

On the other hand, the terrain is excellent for wandering around, as the area is home to stunning Kaitalahti homes, a soothing forest landscape and a magical pond.

The idyllic Tullisaari swimming area is also located on the same corners, which is usually only used by a small district. On a summer Monday afternoon, the small beach had attracted only a small number of sun worshipers to enjoy the heat.

The beach is located in an idyllic setting.

Little by little there is a route to the top of a rocky hill.

A cavalcade of landmarks opens up from the sea: Suomenlinna, the Cathedral, Korkeasaari, Mustikkamaa, Kallio Church and the towers of Kalasatama. An old oil tank stands on top of a hill.

The future of Helsinki can also be seen right on the beach. If you have not closely followed the construction project of the Crown Bridges, you will be surprised by the view on the Warranty. The main features of the long bridge are already evident in the sea.

The Kruunuvuorenranta apartment building area is being built behind.

The weather is great, but no one shows up anywhere. There is one lonely tent at the edge of the forest, but there is no one there either. This must be Helsinki’s most hidden sight gem.

Someone was camping in the peace on the cliffs of Kruunuvuori.

An old oil tank stands on a hill.

No after all, one person has found it here!

A lonely gentleman stands out from the rock hollow, who is celebrating Loki’s summer day.

When he introduces himself to the man, he mutters something about the paparazzi, but then he is already laughed at by the curiosity of the press.

“If you tell me about this place, then soon everyone will come here.”

After a while, the mind changes. The man agrees to introduce himself Passand start introducing local farms.

Pasi has since moved to Kruunuvuorenranta’s new apartment buildings in Herttoniemi and praises his new home corners from the ground to the sky.

Crown Mountain on the cliffs Pasi is now for the second time. He praises both the scenery and the tranquility. He underlines that in Kruunuvuorenranta nature is really close – in a different way than in Kalasatama, for example. And in the middle of nature you can even see the whole Stad!

Pasi is a sailor by profession. He saw his old job fluttering far out to sea.

Pasi bets that hardly anyone will find a great place because the Kruunuvuorenranta construction sites have cut off the easiest routes. Now the landscape-hungry have to go a long way.

It is also nice to see the progress of the Crown Bridges construction site. From the cliffs of Kruunuvuori, you can now see the construction site better than anything. Pasi says that when the bridge is completed, Kruununvuorenranta will become one of Helsinki’s most coveted areas.

“This is Lauttasaari of the future,” he concludes.
