The coalition support fell to its lowest point this election season, according to a recent HS-gallup. At the same time, Sdp, Perussuomalaiset and the center have become stronger.
Sdp’s support rose by 0.8 percentage points to 22.8 percent compared to the previous survey conducted in September. The coalition, on the other hand, fell by 1.2 percentage points to 19.4 percent.
In the survey, the third largest party was Basic Finns, whose support was 16.1 percent in October. It was an increase of 0.5 percentage points from September.
The ruling parties the combined support fell to 43.7 percent with the collapse of the coalition.
The combined support of the Coalition, Basic Finns, Rkp and Christian Democrats is therefore almost six percentage points lower than the result of the spring 2023 parliamentary elections. The combined support of the governing parties was 49.4 percent in the elections.
Antti Kaikkonen was elected chairman of the center in June, and the party has strengthened somewhat. Its support seems to have stabilized at just over 12 percent.
The support of the Left Alliance rose slightly and that of the Greens fell. The support for both is about eight percent.
Although Sdp chairman Antti Lindtman there is criticized from lack of color and too much caution, the party’s support is now higher than ever before his predecessor Sanna Marini at the time.

Sdp’s supporters are clearly older than supporters of other parties. It has more than one and a half times more supporters over the age of 65 than the center and almost twice as many as the coalition.
Based on the HS-galup, Sdp has strengthened its positions in all age groups – but especially among the youngest and oldest voters of all.
According to background information, the Democrats now have more than 30,000 supporters under the age of 35 more than at the time of the parliamentary elections. At the same time, it has overtaken the coalition as the second most popular party among young people.
Ykkönen is Basic Finns, which is by far the most popular party among people under 35.
Basic Finns has lost support in all age groups – but most among the middle-aged. It now has more than 44,000 fewer supporters in the 55-64 age group compared to the parliamentary elections.
The coalition, on the other hand, has lost the most in the over 65 age group.
The majority of Sdp’s supporters are women. However, it is interesting that after the parliamentary elections, it has especially gained more male supporters.
