Nihtisilla The recycling center is now testing a pick-up box service, says the City of Espoo on its website.
The pick-up box is a smart compartment where you can leave the buyer of goods sold on an internet flea market site or on social media, for example. The service is therefore intended to provide a new type of exchange for goods for peer trade, ie trade between consumers.
Seller leaves the goods he sells in the tray, which in turn sends the tray unlock code to the pick-up by e-mail. The fetcher can then open the tray with the code he received and retrieve the goods.
The smart compartment is located in the Nihtisilla Recycling Center store, and its use is free during the trial.
In the experiment user feedback is also collected through a survey, while other uses for smart compartments are explored. The experiment will last six months, until the end of April 2021.
The pick-up box has been implemented by the City of Espoo, the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Recycling Center and Punta Oy, which produces the distribution solution. For more information, contact the Nihtisilla Recycling Center pages.
