HS Espoo | A dog was stolen in front of a store in Espoo – Then a thief was found, but the mystery of the fate of the pet only deepened

The dog of the Rovaniemi couple was stolen from Kilo, Espoo, during a shopping trip. The incident took a strange turn, as the thief was caught but did not tell where the dog ended up.

Rovaniemi resident Hanna Huurinainen and his wife experienced the last in January the dog owner’s nightmare, when their dog adopted from Spain to Finland was stolen.

Huurinainen’s wife went out for a light brown pit bull near Espoo’s Kilo train station before a long drive north. During the shopping trip, the dog was attached to the front of the store for a while.

The shopping trip lasted 10-15 minutes, during which the dog was stolen.

And it has not yet been found.

Hanna Huurinainen has also searched for her dog through social media.

For a moment time in the spring, it seemed that the case might be resolved quickly. Police found the dog’s original thief and chatted with him.

To the end, Huurainen hoped the thief would tell me where the dog is.

“It became clear that no such information was obtained from there,” he says disappointed.

According to Huurinainen, the thief has been sentenced in the district court to 40 days’ probation and compensation. The dog was still lost. Dog searches have continued actively throughout the spring, summer and autumn.

The height at the withers of a lost pit bull is about 54 cents.

Frosty has received numerous volunteers to assist in the search for the dog.

Volunteers and family relatives living in Espoo have been very helpful, although Huurinainen and his wife have had to travel to Espoo many times during the year.

Potential areas where the dog could move have been traversed not only by manpower but also with a dog that recognizes odors.

At the moment, according to Huurinainen, it seems that the cut pitbull has moved at one particular train station in Espoo.

“When the dog was last seen a few months ago, it looked fit.”

Huurinainen does not want to share the dog’s name with the public.

Frosty in the worst case scenario, their pitbull would have ended up as a fighting dog.

“We’ve also been afraid the dog hasn’t ended up in the family,” he says.

Huurinainen suspects that their pit bulls are currently in the possession of some drug addict.

“In the metropolitan area, many drug users have dogs,” he knows.

At the moment, Huurinainen and his wife promise a dog finder a reward of 800 euros. They have a strong belief that the dog can still be found.

“All the tips go through.”
