The dates for the 2025 Income Tax Return – corresponding to last year’s fiscal year 2024 – are now official, which this year will begin on Wednesday, April 2, one day earlier than the previous campaign. The modification marks the beginning of the period in which all citizens must comply with their tax obligations.
From the first Wednesday of April, taxpayers will be able to request, process and present their draft of the 2024 Income Tax Return at the official website or in the Tax Agency mobile application. In the same way, the Income Campaign will be extended until Monday, June 30, the last day to submit returns with negative results.
What is the draft Income Tax Return?
The draft Income Tax Declaration is a non-binding declaration proposal generated by the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT) with the personal and economic data that the taxpayer has to date, on this occasion the period of 2022.
Obtaining this document can facilitate the process of preparing the Income Tax Return, although as its name indicates, it is nothing more than a draft with provisional results, so once obtained it is advisable to access it and check that all the information is correct before submitting the report officially.
How to request the draft of the Income Tax Return
All procedures related to the Income Tax Declaration have deadlines depending on the means by which they are going to be carried out. In this way, all those taxpayers who wish to do so will be able to consult, obtain and modify the draft of the Income Tax Return starting Wednesday, April 2 through the official website or app of the Tax Agency.
On the other hand, the Income Tax Return by telephone will be available from Tuesday, May 6, while if you wish to carry out the task in person at official offices, you will have to wait until Monday, June 2.
All those who want to obtain their draft of the Income Tax Return online must access Renta WEB and process your declaration by identifying yourself in one of the possible ways:
- With electronic certificate or DNIe.
- With Cl@ve Móvil -previously Cl@ve PIN-.
- With a valid Income Tax reference number.
Access the draft Income Tax with electronic certificate or DNIe
To carry out this access you must have a valid electronic certificate, issued by the Royal Mint, or, on the other hand, with an electronic DNI. Once you have this accreditation, you must access the Renta WEB service within the “Featured procedures” section.
Next, on the next screen where the identification method appears, press “Certificate or electronic DNI” and select your electronic signature to correctly identify yourself.
Access the Income draft with Cl@ve Móvil
In a similar way to access for electronic certificate or DNIe, the Income Tax Return can be identified with the Cl@ve Móvil system -previously called Cl@ve PIN-. This consists of a password chosen by the user and a PIN notified by SMS, which can be used during the first 10 minutes from receipt.
To obtain it, prior registration is necessary, which can be carried out both in person at an official Tax Agency office or online. Once you have a valid Mobile Cl@ve, access the draft processing service on the Income WEB page and click on the “Cl@ve Móvil (previously Cl@ve PIN)” section.

Access the draft Income Tax with a valid Income Tax reference number
Finally, it is possible to access the draft Income Tax online using a valid Income Tax reference number. To obtain this access code, taxpayers must communicate their Tax Identification Number (NIF), the expiration date of their DNI – or the support number of their NIE – and the amount that appears in certain boxes of the Tax Return. Income from the previous year or an IBAN in case the income tax return has not been submitted in the last year.
Once you have obtained the valid Income Tax reference number, you can proceed as with the other two identifications mentioned previously. To do this, you will have to access the draft processing service on the Income WEB page and select the “Reference number” option.

How to confirm the draft of the Income Tax Return once reviewed
Once the draft 2025 Income Tax Return has been accessed, it is important to review all the data that appears in the document. This step is vital to ensure that the statement is correct, as the draft may be out of date.
Once the report has been reviewed, there are several ways to proceed:
- If you are satisfied with the data in the file, confirm the draft and present it to the Tax Agency.
- If you are not satisfied with the information reflected in the document, modify all those erroneous parts or prepare your own draft from scratch.
Finally, the taxpayer must indicate the IBAN of their bank account and sign the Income Tax Return before submitting it.
