Fabricio’s query: Hi Diego. How are you? In a lot of (intact) v10 soybeans, I have a brown bug in isolated colonies, especially in headwaters. The damage that it produces on leaves is quite a lot, present in 15% of plants (counting headlands) and within each plant on leaf 6 or 7. It is a rather sandy soil. Is there a threshold or application criteria for this pest? In case of applying with chlorpyrifos, did you achieve control? Thank you.
Response from Diego Alvarez: Hi Fabricio, how are you? I tell you that I do not have specific trials with this plague. What I am using is% defoliation as a fuse for decision making. In the early stages of cultivation, 20% can be used. As for the products to be used, they would have to be phosphorous or pyrethroid. If possible, I would try not to apply it, since early-stage cultivation has a great capacity for recovery. In addition, the use of the assets you name is quite heavy on the environment.
