Like the rest of the furniture and appliances in a home, the TV also gets dirty. Here are some tips to make it look like new
Imagine that you come home after a whole day at work, you put on a movie or a series and the screen is full of fingerprints or dust. So that you can rest watching your favorite series of the moment, there are some methods to clean your television without having to leave home. Also, this trick can work for other electronic devices that have a screen and are prone to damage from cleaning. If you want your television and all its components to remain clean and intact, follow these home tricks.
How to clean your TV screen
It does not matter if the screen of your television is LED, plasma or of another type, the best product to clean will be distilled water combined with isopropyl alcohol.
1. Turn off the TV
The first step to start cleaning is to turn off the TV and unplug it from the light. This cleaning should be done cold and never spray the cleaner directly on the TV screen, as you could damage it.
2. Prepare the homemade liquid with distilled water and alcohol
Prepare the homemade liquid with distilled water and isopropyl alcohol. In a small aerosol, spray bottle or glass bottle, add distilled water and alcohol in equal parts. Shake the mixture and the liquid is ready. Isopropyl alcohol is used to clean the CCD in digital cameras, cleaning motherboards, printing foils, and 3D printer components.
3. Apply the liquid on a cloth
To properly clean your TV screen, pour the homemade liquid that you have prepared on a cloth until it is damp. Then gently pass the cloth over the screen of your smart tv, always from top to bottom to avoid leaving whitish marks or traces after cleaning.
4. Clean the stand, control panel and covers
The least delicate part of a plasma TV is the stand and covers. If it has dust, you just have to wipe the surface with a dry cloth. On the other hand, if the TV stand has grease stains or fingerprints, clean it with vinegar and lemon. You must pour a cup of white vinegar, a cup of hot water and the juice of a lemon in a spray can to make this mixture. Apply the liquid before on a cloth and, after moistening it, pass it through the support, the control panel and the covers of your television.
5. Dust and clean the cables
Dust is one of the most common problems with home furniture, but it can also be found on certain parts of the TV. You can apply your all-purpose cleaner to clean the TV cabinet and cables.
6. Clean the remote
Don’t forget to clean the remote. You can clean it with a well-wrung damp cloth. If it is very dirty, it is recommended to soak a cotton swab in warm water and a pinch of dishwashing liquid. Once drained, use it to remove the accumulated dirt between the buttons.
