Euro 2020 is coming to an end. This Sunday, July 11, the grand final will be played at Wembley between Italy and England and one of those two teams will be crowned European champion.
But the rest of the 22 participants who have already been eliminated from the tournament have not left empty-handed, at least in terms of money. And it is that UEFA distributes a good booty, just for participating in the contest they already take 9,250,000 euros each.
After that, this amount has been increased depending on the results obtained. For each victory in the group stage they have earned an extra € 1.5 million and for each draw € 750,000.
The pass to the round of 16 was compensated with 2 million euros, the pass to the quarterfinals with 3,250,000 euros and the four semifinalists take 5 million euros each. The biggest prize will go to the champion, England or Italy, they will enter 10 million euros, while the runner-up will have to “settle” for 7 million euros, a somewhat bitter prize after losing the final.
Namely; Italy after winning their three group stage matches and reaching the final could win 34 million euros, the maximum possible, and if they are runner-up it would be 27 million. In the case of England it would be 33,250,000 euros if it raises its first winding while if it loses it would be 26,250,000.
