The source said that researchers in South Korea found, in their study, that a small amount of dark chocolate is able to significantly improve mood.
The study found that healthy adults who ate 10 grams of dark chocolate daily were “happier”, compared to healthy adults who didn’t eat it at all.
Nutrition and health experts advise eating dark chocolate, but at the same time warn against a lot of it, as it may lead to weight gain.
Dark chocolate contains an important proportion of cocoa, which is rich in fiber, iron and a number of minerals beneficial to the body.
The study was conducted by researchers in the Department of Food and Nutrition at the College of Human Ecology, affiliated with Seoul National University.
They stated: “To our knowledge, this is the first study to provide evidence that consumption of dark chocolate in daily life affects physiological and psychological states.”
